A comedy veteran, Dan has been a staple at Deja Vu since we started comedy in the early 80s. His TV appearances include MTV, HBO, and A&E’s Evening at the Improv. His hilarious guitar act has made him a favorite on the Bob & Tom Radio Show.
Dan Chopin grew up in a noisy house in University City, Missouri- an eclectic suburb just outside of St. Louis. As the youngest member of a large, boisterous family, he learned early how to speak up to get attention. In the mid 80s, while studying acting and advertising at the University of Missouri, Dan put an improv group together with some friends, did the freeze-tag-give-us-an-occupation thing for a couple of years and then started doing standup at open mic nights and comedy clubs around the Midwest. In 1987, Dan moved to the west coast and landed a regular spot at the famous Improv comedy club inLos Angeles. His exposure there led to bookings on the comedy club circuit and appearances on MTV, SHOWTIME, A&E and PBS. Dan is an accomplished stand-up comedian, comedy writer, songwriter, actor and musician. These days, Dan stays busy working comedy clubs, writing unusual comedy songs, playing dobro with his bluegrass buddies, writing and performing for corporate events and acting in television and radio commercials. Dan recently landed a role in the major motion picture “The Alice Movie” which was released in 2007.
